“Hey there,
Tony Robbins…heard of him? What about Jim Rohn? Brene Brown? Jay Shetty? Mel Robbins ring a bell?
Maybe you’ve read their books, watched their videos, or even been to their events. These figures are some of the most influential, inspiring, and thought-provoking leaders of our time. Adults spend tens of thousands of dollars, time, energy and money learning tools and techniques to rewire their brain and undo so much previous programming and beliefs. The question that drives everything I do is simple;
What if instead of rewiring adults’ brains when they are 30, 40, 50, we wired kid’s brains in an empowering way to begin with?
3 Main Reasons you should take your kids to personal growth events:
- Everything Goes Subconscious
- Everything Compounds
- Proximity is Power
#1 Everything Goes Subconscious:
When I was in elementary school, my parents understood this principle. They understood that it was better to bring me to a personal growth event where I wasn’t paying attention than to bring me to a different lower value event where I was paying attention.
If it costs $300 for a babysitter for a 2 day event and a ticket to the event costs $200, that’s a no-brainer. Even if it seems like a child is disengaged, they are soaking it in like a sponge whether they realize it or not. You are a product of your environment whether you like it or not. So, why not give your child access to a more abundant environment?
Ideas plant seeds. Whether your child is playing on an ipad while a speaker is sharing or seemingly looks disengaged, remember that their subconscious mind is picking up every bit of information whether it seems they are or are not.
#2 Everything Compounds
Time is your greatest asset. Where would you be if instead of rewiring and retraining your brain in your 30’s, 40’s 50’s…you wired it in an empowering way from the start? What if you learned what limiting beliefs were before you ever had any? The greatest investment you will ever make is in yourself. So, why not give your child that opportunity young? What you do now will compound into who you become in the future.
#3 Proximity is Power
The closer you are to people, the more you become like them. The closer you are to ideas, the more you start to adapt them. The closer you are to certain opportunities, the more likely you are to take them.
Knowledge transfers whether we want it to or not. So, put your kids in environments where knowledge will change their lives for the better. I encourage you to remember, everything they do now is preparing them for who they will be in the future. We are always practicing today for who we will be tomorrow. Remember, Input =output.”
